The beginning of a mermaid journey
The first priority of any mer is to be safe. The PADI Basic Mermaid course teaches you safety techniques for both you and your mer buddies, learn basic breath hold techniques, and skills used in mer diving as well as freediving.
The de-Tails:
This course starts with self-guided eLearning. You'll learn the history and mythology of mermaids as well as safety considerations while mer diving. Then, you'll practice what you've learned in confined water (pool or a similar calm site). No prior snorkeling, skin diving, or freediving experience is required.Â
What you'll need:
Be 6 years or older
Waterskills: The ability to float comfortably for a set time and swim a set distance without swim aids
Be in good physical health
Mask, snorkel, and bi-fins (suitable for snorkeling/freediving/scuba diving)
Monofin and mermaid tail (Available for rental if you don't own one yourself)
